            On 11 July 2013 the Canterbury Times newspaper published an article by Richard West on page twenty-two "City policing system has ancient origins" about the City of Canterbury police force.

         The Kent On Sunday newspaper published two readers' letters in the 30 June 2013 editions replying to the letter from Richard West: East Kent on page thirty-three; Mid Kent on page twenty-nine; and North and West Kent on page thirty-one.

The Kent On Saturday newspaper published two readers' letters in the 29 June 2013 East Kent edition on page thirty-three replying to the letter from Richard West.

The Kent On Sunday newspaper published a letter from Richard West in the 16 June 2013 editions headlined "Force has lost pride in itself": East Kent on page thirty-three; Mid Kent on page twenty-five; and North and West Kent on page twenty-seven.

The Kent On Saturday newspaper published a letter from Richard West, on page thirty-three of the 15 June 2013 East Kent edition, headlined "Force has lost pride in itself".

The Canterbury Times newspaper published a letter from Richard West, on page fifteen of the 6 June 2013 edition, headlined "Police uniform rules set a bad example".  The History of Policing video accessible on The Chaucer Education project's virtual learning environment is highlighted for readers.

 The Kentish Gazette newspaper published a letter from Richard West, on page sixteen of the 23 May 2013 edition, headlined "Police should take pride in uniform".  Policing Boards are mentioned.

            The Kentish Gazette newspaper published a letter from Richard West, on page twenty-two of the 30 August 2012 edition, about his petition to restore the County of the City of Canterbury.

            The 19 April 2012 edition of the Canterbury Times newspaper contains an illustrated article by Lowri Stafford entitled "Its lift-off for moon landing education site" on page eight.  The letter from Richard West in the 10 May 2012 edition on page twenty-three of the Canterbury Times newspaper (click page twenty-seven of the online edition) headed "Time and space" updates the article.  An edition of the article dated 20 April 2012 is featured on the ThisIsKent website.

           The Canterbury Times newspaper 15 December 2011 edition published a letter on page twenty-one from Richard West under the editor's chosen title "We need police eyes on street", which was shorter than the original letter title "Santa Claus And His Reindeer Had To Take Care Of Their Own Health And Safety In Canterbury On Christmas Eve 2009".

         The illustrated article published in the 17 November 2011 edition of the Kentish Gazette newspaper, entitled "Chief constable denies 'sloppy attitude' claims" is on page thirty.  Adam Williams article includes comment from the Chief Constable of Kent.  Two readers letters, of opposing views, were published the following week on pages ten and eleven of the 24 November 2011 edition of the Kentish Gazette.  The article and the same letters were also published in the Faversham Times, Herne Bay Gazette and Whitstable Times newspapers on the above dates.

        The illustrated article in the Canterbury Extra newspaper on 5 October 2011 entitled "It was better when we were a borough", by journalist Adam Williams on page eleven, includes comment from Canterbury City Council to the petition.  The article is a re-titled version of that published in the Kentish Gazette of 29 September 2011, entitled "Things were much better run when we were a borough" on page thirty-one.  The article is available to read free of charge in the Canterbury Extra but is not free to read in the Kentish Gazette.

        Page ten of the 6 October 2011 Kentish Gazette contains a letter from a reader in support of the restoration of the County Borough, with photograph of Richard West in front of his publications about The Chaucer Education Project.

        The Canterbury Times dated 18 August 2011, mentions Richard West on the front page as one of the top stories featured in the newspaper, under the heading "Sign for police".  The illustrated article on page seven is titled "Bid for city to regain powers".   The newspaper's This Is Kent website contains another edition of the article.  Articles were based on Richard West's press release and a telephone interview with journalist Nerissa Blower.

        The reader's letter published in the Canterbury Times on 25 August 2011 was answered by Richard West's detailed letter in the 15 September edition.  The letters are printed on page twenty-three of each of their respective editions.

           The Kent Remembered article published on page five of the Kent Weekend section of the Kent On Sunday newspaper dated 12 June 2011 and each other Archant KOS Media Group newspaper published that week, entitled "The Peasant Who Rebelled Against The Poll Tax", was based on Richard West's press release and a telephone interview by journalist Marijka Cox.

           An edition of the article dated 7 June 2011, showing a different photograph and without TCEP's website address, was published on the Archant KOS Media Kent News website, under the title "Anniversary of Wat Tyler and the Peasants' Revolt at Canterbury Cathedral".  The newspaper's archive is searchable.  Type "Wat Tyler" in the Archant KOS Media Kent News website's search box, to access the article without needing to click a hyperlink on this webpage.
